The x-ray source for CB MercuRay is a low-energy fixed anode tube similar to that used in dental panoramic machines. It uses just one 360° rotation around the patient, taking just 10 seconds to scan. The cone shaped x-rays provide image data of 288 views that can be presented as 2-D images or used to reconstruct a 3-D image.
