Profile: Integra Lifesciences Corp. specializes in developing and marketing surgical instruments as well as devices & products for use in neurosurgery, reconstructive surgery, general surgery and soft tissue repair. Our MedSurg equipment product group includes ultrasonic surgery systems for tissue ablation and instruments for dental procedures. We develop BioMend® absorbable collagen membrane for use in guided tissue regeneration procedures in periodontal defects. It is inserted between the gum and the tooth after surgical treatment of periodontal disease. It prevents the gum tissue from interfering with the regeneration of the periodontal ligament that holds the tooth in place and is intended to be absorbed after approximately four to eight weeks, avoiding the requirement for additional surgical procedures to remove a non-absorbable membrane. We also offer collagen wound dressings such as CollaCote™, CollaPlug®, and CollaTape®, which have unique dimension, shape & density & provide most of the hemostasis requirements encountered in dental surgery.
